when they told me the news.

전설적인 기타리스트 게리 무어가 향년 58세를 일기로 별세했다.
BBC 등의 외신은 6일(이하 현지시간)
“무어의 시신이 스페인의 에스테포나 호텔 객실에서 발견됐다”고 보도했다.
그의 사망소식은 홈페이지를 통해 공식발표됐으며 정확한 사인은 알려지지 않았다.
스페인 주재 영국 대사관 대변인은
“우리는 무어의 사망소식을 들었으며 시신 운구를 위해 최대한 도움을 줄 예정이다”라고 밝히고 “
고인의 명복을 빌며 유족에게 위로를 전한다”는 입장을 발표했다.
아일랜드록밴드 ‘씬 리지 (Thin Lizzy)’의 멤버였던 게리 무어는
지난 해 4월내한공연을 펼치기도 했으며, 자타가 공인하는 명 기타리스트 중의 한 명이다.
1952년 영국에서 태어난 게리 무어는 16세인 1969년 록밴드 스키드로우의 멤버로 데뷔한다.
이후 밴드 ‘콜로세움2’, ‘BBM’, Scars’ 등을 거처
최고의 블루스 기타리스트로 수 많은 명곡을 배출했다.
어릴적 친구이기도 한 필 리뇻과 함께한
‘Parisienne Walkways’, ‘Still in Love with you’, ‘Spanish Guitar’ 등 명곡을 남겼으며
국내에서도 ‘Still got the blues’, 'Story of blues’ 등이 잘 알려져있다.
솔로 활동 외에도 무어는 세션으로도 활동하며 수 많은 명반을 배출했는데,
지금은 고인이 된 최고의 락 드러머 코지 파웰과 함께한 ‘Tilt’ 등을 발표하기도 했다.
그의기타는 깁슨사의 레스폴 시리즈를 쓰는 것으로 유명했는데,
기타리스트의 이름을 붙인 시그니쳐 모델을 남발하지 않는 깁슨사 또한
레리 칼튼, 비비 킹 등에 이어 게리 무어의 모델을 발표하기도 했다.
그를 추모하며 게리무어의 개인적인 음악 결산 1982-1994,Ballads & Blues 에서
