Tennessee Plowboy 테네시농사꾼 에디 아놀드
Tennessee Plowboy란 별명은 그가 스타가
된뒤에도 자랑스런 그의 호가 되었다.
에디가 음악에 흥미를 갖기 시작한것은 초등학교시절부터였고
이미고교시절엔 훌륭한 연주가요 가수로 정평이 나 있을 정도였다.
그가 18세 되던해 방송국에나가 가수로 활약하기 시작하였는데
거기서 그는 아코디언 명연주자겸 가수인
피위킹(Pee Wee King)을 만나게 된다.
명곡 테네시월츠를 작곡한 킹은 당시 골드 웨스트 카우보이스란
그룹을 이끌었는데 에디를 자기그룹에
기타리스트겸 가수로 끌어드린것이다.
골드 웨스트 카우보이스에서 3년간 머물면서 명성을 얻은 그는
샐리 게이핫과 결혼 본격적인 솔로가수로 나선다.
당시 그의 노래는 크게 환영을 받았는데
그것은 30년대 인기 카우보이송의 대가 이며
서부영화의 히어로 였던 진 오트리의 창법과 역시 맹인가수로
유명했던 흑인 '피트 캐슬'의 음악성을
잘 조화시킨 덕분인것으로 풀이되고 있다.
1942년 첫히트곡을 낸 에디는 40년넘게
컨트리 뮤직의 보금자리'그랜드 올 오프리'무대를 지키면서
내쉬빌 최고의 재력가 가 되었다.
1966년 '컨트리 뮤직 명예의 전당'에 입적 되었다.
