1941년 8월 21일 미국의 텍사스주에서 태어난 케니 로저스는고교 시절에
그룹 스칼러스를 결성하여 경력을 쌓으면서 인정을 받았다.
1967년에 결성된 그룹 "퍼스트 에디션 의 전신인 뉴 크리스티 민스트럴스"의 전신인
뉴 크리스티 민스트럴스"에 가담하여 본격적인 음악 인생을 시작하였다.
1976년에 싱글 "Love Lifted Me"로 컨트리계에 명함을 내민 후,
1977년"Daytime Friends"와 "Sweet Music Man", 그리고
1978년의 "Tha Gambler", 1979년의 "She Believe In Me"와
그해 말에 출반되어 폭발적인 인기를 누린 "Cowerd of The Country",
1980년의 "Lady",1981년 여름에 발표된 "I Don't Need You",
